iPhone Road Shots Audi R8:

Well this has to be my favorite iPhone road shot so far! Some great shots of the beautiful Audi R8. The R8 has got a bit of a love or hate reputation as far as styling goes... but, as with most cars Audi builds, the R8 has a very purpose built design and in my opinion one of the best looking exotics out there.

Combined with a silky smooth bullet proof V8 and one of the few Supercars you can drive everyday, someone finally has given a hard push to the Porsche 911 pedestal, and I think there are a few in Stuttgart feeling a bit shaky sitting up that high for so many years!

iPhone Road Shots: Maserati Quattroporte

Bellezza!!!.. Like a fine crafted designer pair Italian shoes this girl is... This car just screams and flairs it's hands all around even when it's sitting still (no pun intended.. well maybe)! Ya, ok... it's not perfect... many complain about it's goofy floppy gearbox... and it being underpowered compared to it's German Uber Saloon rivals. But, who cares how fast your going? Really... it's like having an extreme makeover.. when you look this good, you want to get where your going as slowly as possible so everyone takes notice!

iPhone Road Shots: Audi S5

Since it's release, I have only seen one of the illustrious Audi S5's on the road. A friend just happen to snap this pic on his iPhone of the new S5 up close and in person. This car really looks more subtle in pictures than on the road. It has a very aggressive stance while in motion, and personally I think it is understandably beautiful! (And check out that rare color! I think it's a dark metallic aqua green of sorts...)

iPhone Road Shots: Ford Mach 1 Mustang

Well as I posted a few days ago.. I have a ton of great iPhone road shots I'll be posting over the next few weeks. Here is a beautiful Ford Mach 1 Mustang. Thanks to Barry for helping me identify this car as a 1970. The Mach 1 had a various range of engines as did most muscle cars at the end of the era. Ranging from a 351 Windsor to the mighty 428 cobra jet in the 1970 model, the Mach 1 was a serious tire shredding machine! I've always been a fan of the Mach 1. It was one of the last great beasts of the Muscle car era. With the fuel crisis soon to follow, the Mach 1 ended a great era of American power and style with a high note.

(Special thanks to Bryan for all the great road shots!)

iPhone Road Shots: Lamborghini Gallardo

This week I have a bunch of great iPhone road shots to post. So let's kick it off with the always traffic stopping Lamborghini Gallardo! This Italian bull in yellow isn't quite as out of this world as it's forefathers, but you have to admit there is nothing else on the road that comes close to that design. Some complain that Audi has tamed the ragging bull since their influence began in the early 2000's. Personally I don't think an AC that actually works & a rear window you can see out of is a bad thing, but hey.. I could be wrong?

iPhone Road Shots: Porsche 911 "964" Cabriolet

Here's a shot of a beautiful guards red Porsche 911 Cabriolet. This is probably a early 1990's model officially referred to as the 964. The Porsche 911 Cabriolet had the tried and true N/A 3.6 liter air-cooled flat 6 boxer engine that pumped out 250 HP and 228 lbs ft. torque. The light 964 Cabriolet had a curb weight of approximately 3200 lbs which rocketed the car to low 6 second 0-60 times and a top speed of around 160mph!! Porsche was one of the first auto makers to introduce a tiptronic automatic transmission on the 964 model which is now standard on most modern automatics. This car really is timeless (well.. maybe it's just because the 911 hasn't really changed much in 43+ years). The 911 holds it value well, and dare I say if your looking for a collectible car for auction blocks of the future.. You can't go wrong with a Porsche 911!!

iPhone Road Shots: 2005 Audi S4

A nice iPhone shot of a Dolphin Grey 2005 Audi S4. I have actually driven one of these cars with an automatic and they drive beautifully. The S4 is very scalpel precise in every execution on the road with a smooth, silky V8. I love the very subtle details that make you do a double take to differentiate it from a normal A4. Can't wait to see what Audi has in store for the 2009/10 S4 redesign!

iPhone Road Shots: Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3L 16v Cosworth

Thank you to Bryan for a great iPhone road shot of the classic Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3L 16v. This car was an answer from Mercedes to BMW's first generation M3. Mercedes teamed with Cosworth to produce a high revving quick little 2.3L 4 cylinder engine. Later models had a 32v 2.3L engine (Not brought to the U.S. unfortunately) These cars are getting really hard to find in good, original shape. In fact I search for them from time to time on Ebay motors and nice examples go for a high premium. Here is a nice example in Champagne (seem to see a ton of them in that color here in the U.S.)

If you have a cool iPhone road shot (or any other phone or camera for that matter) Please email pics to cartestride@yahoo.com

iPhone Road Shots: 2000 E39 BMW M5

I just happened to run into a friend today who has an absolutely beautiful 2000 E39 BMW M5!! Check out the rare color combo of ice blue over black with red inserts. This has to be one of my all time favorites. BMW, saloon, racing tuned suspension, Manual transmission and 394 hp... it just doesn't get much better than that! I think it is the best set of iPhone Road shots so far!

Check out how the badges have been removed.. can anyone say "Sleeper!"

iPhone Road Shots: Lotus Esprit V8

Another Cool iPhone pic tailing a Lotus Esprit V8! Two British super cars in a row. This is a car I really miss. One of the best super car designs of all time! I remember reading road test after road test of the Esprit matched up against cars with a newer design and more power. The Lotus Esprit always was the sleeper car and in most cases out performed its newer rivals. I've heard Lotus has a new Esprit in the works! I sure hope they do... And man can you pick up a nice one of these cheap now!

iPhone Road Shots: Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster

Well this is a new thing I'll be doing from time to time. Seeing as my buddy and I both have iPhone's and we are both car buffs. Why not snap some iPhone pics of cool cars on the road! And to start this off right.. I'm showing up with the big guns!!! Check out this sweeeeet Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster!! WOW is all I can say.. I refer to this as my Lotto car.. because if I won the Lottery, this is the first car I would get! (well.. maybe the coupe version..) What an amazing car!! Its like time stands still and you stare at this car in a Matrix style camera shot.... The best of the best!!
